About CCLA

The Canine Club of Los Angeles has been a dog’s home away from home since 2008.  It began as an unofficial partner to our daytime pet care service, The Pet Concierge.  As more dogs became our friends and were taken on walks, fed their dinner or were driven to the groomer, naturally the next step was — please can you spend the night with them?  So, instead of the Pet Concierge becoming the Pet Slumber-Partier, the Canine Club was born.  Dogs like to feel at home even when they’re somewhere else and this was our inspiration for the Club.

Dash & Cooper

We are not a kennel, nor a pet hotel, and we do not have a fancy swimming pool shaped like a bone.  BUT, we are a comfortable home environment which includes a big back yard, a doggy door, a friendly Ambassador and plenty of experience in keeping canines happy.  It’s like if your next door neighbor (the one you like) offered to take in Lassie while you went on vacation, Lassie would have a similar experience at the Canine Club.  With over 3,000 square feet of space to roam, sleep, play and explore, we can accommodate most any canine personality from Princess to Court Jester.  We have room for up to four dogs at a time, so it is never too crowded, nor is it boring.  The Canine Club is your source for exclusive dog boarding in a home environment.

Melissa worked as a camera assistant in film and television for over 20 years.  After lugging one too many cameras up a muddy slope at 4:00 am with a bad back, she decided it was time to try something new.  Hello…meet the Pet Concierge! … And the Leader of the Pack at the Canine Club!  She is fully bonded and insured through the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.  She is well-trained herself in canine obedience and socialization and has worked with dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments.  She takes extra care in attending to the needs of her guests from endlessly throwing the ball for someone, to dressing a wound, to making sure that the shorty pug can get up on the couch (that is, if they’re allowed…) References available upon request.
